Preppers Bug Out Bag -Yoders Canned Bacon Review – What Is It?

When you’re shopping for survival food you’re usually looking at canned goods or freeze dried meals or a mixture of both. This can mean you’re fairly limited when it comes to selection and variety. Preppers are sort of at the mercy of what’s readily available and let’s face it, no one wants to envision a future where freeze dried and mac and cheese is the highlight of your day.

Well now you don’t have to! You probably figured that once the shit hits the fan you’re going to be too busy scrambling for basic necessities to ever really even think about something like bacon. Well no more, thanks to Yoders Canned Bacon which is exactly what it says it is on the can: precooked, smoky slices of bacon.

Each can of Yoders Canned Bacon is 100% real bacon, and has about 40 slices of bacon. The bacon is your normal thin sliced precooked bacon like you’d see in a bulk package in the refrigerated section at Costco or grocery store. The difference is, this stuff’s in a can and it has a much longer shelf life.

I love this product. It’s a great supplement to my other freeze dried and canned survival foods and it has many many uses. Every Prepper should add this to his or her shopping list. In a pinch you can eat it right out of the can because it’s precooked. You can add it to almost anything, whether you chop it up and add it to freeze dried eggs or canned beans or just throw a few strips in whole with some vegetables. Hell an enterprising outdoor chef could probably even turn this into a dessert somehow.

There’s about 40 pieces in a can. It’s in three layers with wax paper around it and in between each layer of bacon. It’s folded over so it’ll fit in the can. The ingredients are simple, pork, water, salt, sugar, and a couple of preservatives. Because it’s canned, it’s got a 10 year shelf life. That means as a savvy prepper you’ll have access to delicious bacon for at least 10 years after everyone else has forgotten what bacon even tastes like.

Preppers Bug Out Bag – Yoders Canned Bacon Review – What I Didn’t Like

There isn’t much to complain about here. It might be nicer if there was a can about half this size because the fact that one can has around 40 pieces of bacon in it means you need to plan ahead a little so that you consume all of this before it goes bad once you’ve opened a can. I also would have liked it better if Yoders Canned Bacon came with a pop top or a key like a sardine can so that you didn’t need to worry about a can opener. Overall though this is going to be a pretty awesome addition to every preppers stash of survival food.

Bacon, glorious bacon! Yoders Canned Bacon for preppers

Bacon, glorious bacon! What else do I need to say about this product to convince you to go out and get some? Before I saw Yoders Canned Bacon I just assumed that bacon was one of the things all of us preppers were going to have to live without – unless we were lucky enough to know someone who is capable of turning a real pig into bacon. This is good stuff and every prepper should add it to his cache of survival food ASAP. I’m getting a case of Yoders Canned Bacon and you should too!
